Micro-mesh Cushioned Abrasives up to Grit 12000 | FINE …

Micro-mesh cushioned abrasives are constructed with a thin layer of soft resilient material between the cloth back and the abrasive crystals. This provides the unique "cushioned" action for the abrasives. This unique design allows the abrasive crystals to recede into the resilient layer and float to an even cutting plane. Micro Mesh is available in grit sizes …

Particle Size Conversion Table

Large sieve openings (1 in. to 1/4 in.) have been designated by a sieve "mesh" size that corresponds to the size of the opening in inches. Small sieve "mesh" sizes of 3 1/2 to 400 are designated by the number of openings per linear inch in the sieve. The following convention is used to characterize particle size by mesh designation:

Understanding Abrasive Sizing for Sand Blasting

First, it's important to understand what the mesh size means. What's a 30/60 vs an 80 mesh? These numbers refer to the physical size of the abrasive particles as to relate to a linear inch. 30 mesh means you've got thirty abrasive participles in a line that take up an inch. 80 mesh can fit eighty particles in that same inch. So the higher ...
